VP of Business Development, RWE

REPORTS TO: SVP, RWE

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

The VP Business Development for Real-World Data and Evidence is a strategic, field-based role designed to cultivate, enhance, and capitalize on relationships with Inspire’s life sciences clients. The goal is to achieve and surpass sales targets for Inspire’s RWE Business Unit through adept salesmanship, industry expertise, and a consultative approach. The ideal candidate will possess a rich background in life sciences, a track record of selling RWE solutions, and a ready network of potential clients to engage promptly upon hire.

KEY RESPONSIBILITES: 

  • Grow sales of Inspire RWE Products and Solutions, focusing on life science partners through an account-based, consultative sales strategy.
  • Develop and execute comprehensive account plans targeting various product lifecycle phases, including late phase, pre-launch/peri-approval, and phase IV/post-marketing.
  • Exhibit deep understanding of Inspire’s offerings to advance the research and business goals of biopharma partners, with an emphasis on scaling RWE solutions.
  • Collaborate with business development teams within RWE and across the broader commercial organization to develop joint offerings and explore additional business opportunities.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • 10+ years of progressive business development experience selling data products or services to Life Sciences entities (e.g., pharmaceutical, biotech, CROs, healthcare consulting firms, analytics firms, healthcare technology companies).
  • Established network of contacts in life sciences that can be leveraged immediately.

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:

  • Demonstrated success in engaging senior executives in Medical Affairs, HEOR, RWE, Data Science & Analytics, Clinical Development, Market Access, and other relevant areas within the life sciences domain.
  • A verifiable history of surpassing sales targets with consistent quarterly performance.
  • Proven ability to open new accounts and expand existing client relationships in the life science sector.
  • Expertise in creating sales materials, formulating proposals, negotiating, and closing complex deals.
  • Adept at identifying key decision makers, nurturing enterprise-wide relationships within life science accounts, and aggressively pursuing new business opportunities.

SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS:

  • In-depth knowledge of the RWD and RWE landscape, competitive dynamics, customer challenges, and evidence strategies from clinical development to post-approval.
  • Experience in oncology and/or rare disease is highly preferred.
  • Proficient in formulating proposals and solutions that incorporate multi-modal clinical data and research concepts.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to operate as a team player.
  • Familiarity with CRM systems and proficiency in using tools such as Microsoft PowerPoint, Salesforce, Excel, and Word.
