Director of Business Development

Location: Remote within the United States

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING:

The Director, Business Development is responsible for driving growth, identifying and securing new business opportunities, and leading high-impact initiatives that expand market share and strengthen the company’s competitive position. This role requires a seasoned professional with a deep understanding of business development, sales strategies, strategic partnerships, and market trends.

In this role you will: 

  • Sales and Account development/management:Cultivate meaningful relationships with key contacts within industry accounts in order to achieve individual and company financial targets.
  • Strategic Planning & Execution: Develop and implement comprehensive business development strategies that align with the company’s growth objectives and long-term vision.
  • Market Research & Analysis: Identify emerging market trends, new business opportunities, and potential risks. Conduct competitive analysis to refine and adjust strategies as needed.
  • Partnership Development: Cultivate and maintain strategic relationships with key stakeholders, including clients, partners, and industry leaders. Lead negotiations and finalize agreements that drive value and growth.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with other departments (e.g., Marketing, Product, Operations) to align business development initiatives with the company’s broader strategic goals.
  • Financial Management: Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning related to business development activities. Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and ensure ROI on initiatives.
  • Executive Reporting: Provide regular updates and insights to the executive team on business development progress, challenges, and opportunities. Prepare and present strategic recommendations.

WHAT WE NEED:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in business development, sales, or strategic partnerships, with at least 2 years in Life Sciences and or Clinical Research.
  • Proven track record of driving significant business growth and achieving revenue targets.
  • Strong understanding of market dynamics, competitive landscapes, and industry trends.
  • Exceptional negotiation, communication, and relationship management skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing business needs.
  • Proven ability to manage complex, high-stakes negotiations.
  • Ability to travel up to 30% of the time.
