Inspire announces new partnership with the Autoimmune Association
Inspire has partnered with the Autoimmune Association to launch a new community for patients living with autoimmune diseases and their caregivers.
“This partnership provides a safe, supportive space for people with autoimmune diseases to come together, share their experiences, and learn from one another,” said Brian Loew, CEO of Inspire. “The Autoimmune Association joins more than 100 other nonprofit patient organizations that partner with us to create online communities for sharing and support.”
Autoimmune diseases occur as a result of the body’s immune system attacking its own organs, tissues, and cells. Although the cause of many autoimmune diseases remains unknown, more than 24 million people in the U.S. are impacted by an autoimmune disease. There are over 100 chronic conditions that are considered autoimmune diseases, including Type 1 diabetes, lupus, inflammatory bowel disease, psoriasis and rheumatoid arthritis.
The Autoimmune Association works with disease-specific patient advocacy and non-profit organizations to help advance research and awareness of all autoimmune diseases. Its mission is to improve the lives of those impacted by these conditions.
The partnership, announced during Autoimmune Awareness Month in March, ensures that people living with autoimmune disease are properly diagnosed, treated, supported, and understood at every point in their health journey.
“We are thrilled to partner with Inspire to provide a new platform for individuals with autoimmune diseases to connect and support one another,” said Colleen Kmiecik, director of marketing and communications at the Autoimmune Association. “Living with an autoimmune disease can be isolating, and we hope that this partnership will help individuals feel less alone and more empowered to manage their conditions.”
