Director of Business Development

The ideal candidate has experience selling to key decision makers in brand and marketing teams in life science companies, particularly larger pharmaceutical and medical device companies. In this position you will be part of a growing team and play a critical role growing and guiding Inspire's sponsorship, patient outreach and market research initiatives.

Your responsibilities will include

  • Selling sponsorships of Inspire communities, market research offerings and patient outreach opportunities to pharmaceutical and medical device companies.
  • Generating, growing and managing a pipeline of potential customers.
  • Meeting quarterly sales targets.
  • Writing proposals for, and negotiating contracts with, customers.

Qualifications

  • 5-7 years experience selling to pharmaceutical and/or medical device companies, especially to brand teams and marketing departments.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience in writing proposals for, and negotiating contracts with, pharmaceutical and/or medical device companies.
  • Ability to work in a team environment in addition to being able to work independently.
  • Knowledge about social media applications and how they apply to healthcare is desired.
  • An entrepreneurial spirit and drive.

Location

The ideal candidate will be based in the New York/New Jersey area, although we are flexible about this requirement for the right candidate.

Inspire (www.inspire.com), is looking for a project engineer with a diverse skill set to join our team. Our online communities, created in partnership more than 80 of the most respected national healthcare non-profits, help over 300,000 members find support when faced with serious medical conditions. If you want to be part of a team that helps people in a direct and tangible way, we want to meet you.

This position entails planning and executing projects using the Inspire platform for our clients in the pharmaceutical industry, and our non-profit partners. General responsibilities include:

  • Working directly with clients and partners to understand their needs
  • Documenting requirements for projects
  • Determining mix of Inspire features to use to meet client/partner needs
  • Creating project plans
  • Implementing technical aspects of projects
  • Managing execution of projects

You'll also work closely with the rest of the Inspire technical team on the development of the Inspire platform.

Specific technical responsibilities of this position include:

  • Writing, editing and programming surveys
  • Analyzing survey results and documenting findings
  • Writing and coding e-mails
  • Working with the engineering team to develop new features for clients and partners

Desired skills / experience:

Web Designer

Inspire (www.inspire.com), is looking for an outstanding Web designer to join our team. Our online communities, created in partnership more than 80 of the most respected national healthcare non-profits, help over 300,000 members find support when faced with serious medical conditions. If you want to be part of a team that helps people in a direct and tangible way, we want to meet you.

This position is an amazing opportunity for a Web designer. You will work as part of a small, highly-focused team and play an integral role in feature design for www.inspire.com, a vibrant social network which receives over 2 million visits and 8 million pageviews every month, and is growing rapidly. There are virtually no impediments to bringing your creative vision to life at Inspire.

Specific responsibilities include:

  • Working with the development team to spec and design new features for www.inspire.com, and to revamp existing features
  • Converting design comps to functional HTML and CSS
  • Working with the team to implement, test and deploy features you design
  • Testing design alternatives (A/B testing)
  • Evaluating member feedback regarding Inspire features, and making improvements based on that feedback

Skills we're looking for include:

  • Comprehensive experience with the Adobe design suite
  • Mastery of CSS
  • Mastery of XHTML
  • At least some hands-on experience with Javascript and client-side coding
  • Extensive experience with cross-browser compatibility testing and general QA
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work independently; Self motivation
